Description
Some fanart inspired by the Dark Mewtwo form in Pokken TournamnetMew originally had an unbound (nicknamed Mega) form before the existance of Mewtwo. When Mewtwo was created, the scientists wondered if Mewtwo had the same potential as mew to unbind, or mega evolve, and after procuring the mineral that allowed Mew to unbind, Mewite, they began tampering and testing the stone, which initially did not react with Mewtwo (still embryonic, notedly). They started tampering with the stone itself, changing its composition slightly until at last it produced a natural evolution of Mewtwo. However, since there was very little Mewite known in existance and much of it had been destroyed due to tampering, this remaining piece, now considered "Mewtwonite X" had lost its Unbinding ability, only capable of the less powerful "Mega" evolution that was only beginning to be understood. The scientists did not stop there. They wondered if they could create a mega stone from scratch, substituting synthetic elements if they must. They chose to experiment using Charizardite, since both the mineral and the pokemon were relatively easy to come across and work with. After many unsuccessful attempts, they managed a reacting stone that produced a much less natural looking charizard evolution, changing both the coloration of the pokemon, and giving it the "dragon" type designation. They dubbed this new stone "Charizardite X", and set to work immediately similarly copying their newly created "Mewtwonite X". The resulting stone, called "Mewtwonite Y", again produced quite an unusual looking Mega evolution. Due to these expiriments, and the creation of the Mewtwo (two currently in existance), the only known deposit of Mewite was depleted and Mew lost its ability to Unbind.
