Signey is only 3 and she already has eye problems, which is why it is extremely important to make sure you're getting your puppy from good lines. They're prone to skin allergies and eye problems (both of which Signey has) as well as luxating patellas.
never buy your puppy from a pet store! adopt or buy from a responsible breeder! i work at a grooming shop, and you cannot believe the problems we see in purebred dogs. a lot of these problems come from bad breeding and poor diet.

Michelle4645,
they are a ton of work, but trust me, very worth it! they will blatantly ignore your commands, even though they know what you're asking them to do. the first two years are the hardest. my advice: 1. socialize like crazy! both other animals and people. 2. don't let your impatience and irritation get the best of you. the respond to respect and firmness, not anger. 3. don't expect them to cuddle with you, if they come to you for love, then feel lucky that you've gained their adoration!

Shibas defiantly have a stubborn side to them. But they are really loyal.
