Description TRUE STORY. Any spam, flaming comments or 'OHMYGERDYORSOSTUPIDFORTHINKINGTHIS' comments will be removed. If you can't respect my opinion, why are you commenting in the first place?

Seriously, I wish I could openly admit this without everyone thinking I'm crazy. You ever have a character where you like the way they're written and they're one of your favourites, but when you admit it to everyone else, they start bashing you and saying your opinion is horrible? These two are some of mine.

I've talked about in the past how I hate that the three latest Disney villains have gotten hate/been forgotten for being plot twist revealed - and while I think Professor Callaghan isn't necessarily disliked, just overshadowed by the other well written characters in Big Hero 6, Hans and Dawn Bellwether get shunned quite often. And admittedly.... I don't agree with the hate they get.

While Dawn is one I've talked about quite a bit in the past, Hans is another one that I like but everyone else seems to hate. To me, Hans is like if Gaston's way of tricking everyone into thinking he's the town hero and using it to lead them to do terrible things went up a notch - he pretends, rather impressively, to be this diplomatic altruist who has Arendelle's best interests at heart, when in reality he's planning to gain the throne for himself. To further make himself look like a kind guy, he doesn't kill Elsa outright, instead crafting a very elaborate trick to make it look like she froze Anna, giving him the opportunity to EXECUTE Elsa - he COULD have killed Elsa at the first chance he got, but I do like the way he made himself look more like a respectable ruler by instead doing what he did and took advantage of Anna's social awkwardness to gain her affections - am I the only one who actually thinks this guy is pretty cunning? And I'm sorry, but I STILL get scared by this guy when he starts talking in that calm tone while putting out the fire to try and freeze Anna to death.

Sorry, but while I respect the opinions of others, I personally see more to Hans and Dawn than others give them credit for - Dawn being sympathetic in my opinion, and Hans being a pretty crafty son of a b**** who's willing to use his charm and charisma to get his way without anyone else even realising it. And come on - at least he's not as bad a villain as Lyle T Rourke from Atlantis, the agent from Bolt or Kazar from The Wild - now THOSE three are pathetic villains if ever I saw one.

I can relate as I had similar reactions when I admitted I liked the modern Mickey Mouse shorts on the Disney channel. I never realized that people were so very...devisive over this subject!

Okay, I'm gonna be completely honest: I don't like these memes you made. It makes you look you're striking back at people for an umpopular opinion. It feels like 'I'm not the bad guy, YOU ARE'. Don't get me wrong, there will always be trolls or self-entitlement jerks who will spam you in the comment section. But what if actual kind people will find this offensive or feel ashamed for disliking something you like and vice-versa.

Sorry if I come across as harsh. You have my pernission to criticize me.

I'm not the only one who makes these and I've never heard that comment before - it's not lashing out at people it all, it's just pointing out a controversial opinion I have and the fact that I have received some hostility from it in the past.

The thing is that trolls or spammers show hostility to expect an reaction to you. It feels like doing these kind of memes, you're giving them the satisfaction while at the same time, it might offend or guilt-trip the people they have a different opinion from yours.

Kinda what happened to MisAnthro Pony.

As I said I'm not doing this to 'get back' at anyone - I'm just pointing out an unpopular opinion of mine.

Did you see the Nostalgia Critic's piece on Disney villains?  I heard the woman formally known as The Nostalgia Chick released  a similar video the same day.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I respectfully disagree on Prince Hans. Mostly because...well, he wasn't even supposed to be the villain initially, and the last-minute rewrite of the script does not hide that very well (upon first meeting Anna, he genuinely seems to like her, even after there's no one there to fake it for, and if he wanted Queen Elsa dead, why didn't he let the guard shoot her in the ice castle? She'd be out of the way, and his hands would be clean; since he didn't know Anna's heart was frozen until right after the reveal, there's no real reason to keep Elsa alive. Also, if we want to be fair, Elsa DID freeze Anna, and she never apologized for it; she just was easily forgiven in the end because she's a good guy and they forced Hans into the bad guy role, the list goes on). So it's not so much I think Hans is a bad Disney villain; I really think there was no reason to make him one in the first place (and I don't see why the Internet decided it hated Commander Rourke so much; he was never painted as Mr. Nicey-Nice like Hans was, so his reveal came off as less forced, and to be fair, he does stay pretty consistent character-wise throughout the movie; stoic, no-nonsense, not phased by any of the supernatural goings-on in Atlantis, etc. Compared to Rourke, Hans's Reveal just comes off as jarring).

I do agree on Bellwether though. She's awesome. It was clever on Disney's part to make the abused Butt Monkey a criminal mastermind (like what Meg Griffin would be if Family Guy had talented writers).

And how. Disney definitely knows what they're doing when they show that not all villains are over-the-top and obvious to anyone with a functioning brain. What's scarier than knowing who is evil is not knowing who is. Even for how cool Obviously Evil villains are, I think they are more overdone than the Hidden Evil ones, taking every Disney film into account.

Great to see that you recognize Hans' and Bellwether's capabilities as villains in their respective films. If only people would pay attention and learn the language of subtlety...

Also, who is your Number 1?

Man, fandoms are the worst. You already know about some bronies sending death threats to Amy Keating Rogers, because they hated how Pinkie Pie was written in Filli Vanilli. And I thought this was the worst fandom since the Sonic fandom.

Well...I was wrong...I found a fandom even worse: Steven Universe. I started watching the show a few months ago and I gotta say it: It's AMAZING! I love the characters, humor, animation and concepts. However, I found out about the 'Zamii070 incident', which it's about a fan girl who loves making fanarts of Steven Universe. But then she got cyberbullied by the fans. Why? Because she drawn Amethyst and Rose (Steven's mother) skinny (and these characters are a little chubby). Because of this, she was called by mean names like 'fatphobic' and 'anorexic' and she attempted SUICIDE! Luckily, she survived, but she was hospitalized!

People can get so rude about their opinions sometimes, can't they? It's great people have such diverse thoughts and feelings but you don't need to be an ass about it.

So, no, I don't think you're crazy for liking certain characters or not.

Some people just don't know when to stop this this silly, stupid "I'll never forgive him/her for trying to kill" melodrama that starts getting annoying where you just want to tell that person to stop their whining and get over the fact that not everybody is going to go along with their personal feelings on what the villains did that all villains are expected to do, pure evil or just blinded by their own anger, fear, stress, and confusion, ones like Bellwether who I don't believe is truly pure evil or was ever born that way. But other predators and Lionheart drove her off the deep end, unable to overcome those emotional and physical scars. I'm still thankful that Disney did not just kill off Hans, Callaghan, or Bellwether, sparing their lives in the end. Not all villains deserve to die just like that. Some deserve worse than others, but not Hans, Callaghan, or Bellwether. I find it sad that people just dismiss Dawn Bellwether as a soulless monster who was born that way and whine constantly that she wanted to turn Nick savage and kill Judy, but seem to forget that those two already made it out alive after Nick swapped the serum, but insist everyone else should never forgive her for attempted murder just because they say so. I'm aware of what she almost did, but that will never stop me from feeling sympathy for her and what drove her on this dark path. If she was truly pure evil, she would have had a backup weapon to kill them instantly and hide their bodies to avoid any witnesses, but she didn't, like she was having second thoughts about killing anyone herself, even those predators.

Tell them off Jovi. And seeing as how we've never heard her backstory and what drove her into her negative path other than predator bullying and discrimination, which is very likely, there is no real reason to hate her.

Again I'm aware of what I saw in the film, and I always hate to sound harsh and mean when mentioning all this "He/she tried to do this or that" melodrama that some users keep going on about like it really happened in the news, even by mentioning it to me, as if they want to me to agree with them that everything every villain does is "unforgiving" or "irredeemable" expecting me to change my mind and stop feeling sympathy for a few of them just because they don't personally. I've seen far worst villains that deserve much more hate than the misunderstood/sympathetic types. Plus I've seen many Batman episodes where even if Batman is fighting most of the villains that are on the rampage that involve other innocent people and even tried to kill Batman himself. But because Batman was once on that same path of vengeance himself, he had later chosen justice over revenge and has seen where many of the villains he fights have been coming from. Instead of just wanting them dead, he would rather see them get well someday, even if he had to take them to prison for their own good. But he doesn't believe all of them are beyond redemption, just like I believe Bellwether is not beyond help or reformation. She just needs someone to help with her bottled up feelings.

If I had to imagine how she would release all of her bottled up emotions, it would be in the same way Moondancer explained her grief and pain to Twilight before finally breaking down to tears after she tearily yells at Lionheart "And you never appreciated or thanked me for everything I did."

That's how I imagine it to be. I don't even know if Lionheart would ever feel any kind of remorse for how he treated Dawn once he finds out what drove her to commit the scandal. I would be angry too if I never got any real thanks or appreciation for everything I did for anyone, not even any apologies given from the mistreatment.

I'm really sorry if it's partially my fault you feel like this. I didn't mean to disrespect your opinions and tastes. But I still think Hans is a shitty villain personally. Not the worst - Lyle T Rourke is worse to me because he's completely forgettable, I'll admit that. And the villain in Tangled probably is THE dumbest Disney villain ever to me.

Hans is just... nothing special to me. And his methods are still questionable. But if you love him, I'm glad for you. I don't mean to bash you or push you down for it - please never think I'm a bully with opinions different from my own. >_< I hope you don't think of me that way.
