Here it is, hope you enjoy the final product as much as I do!Probably over the last month this has taken me a good 20 hours or so. I didn't keep good track of it. Any comments are welcome.

dude that is exellent,so realistic.
btw im looking for tutorials how to trace with the pen tool a car so i can slowly learn how to bring it to life with various techniques,but not by doing the mesh tech.can u ply suggest any if there is any.

yes, amazingly realsitical....
some parts look like watercolour or oil paint...but that's cool.....
those rims must have been a pain in the ass

sorry, rims were done with livetrace. I just couldn't get the effect I wanted with mesh. but for my first car mesh, I thought cheating wasn't a whole big deal. LOL

livetrace....i don't have that...
i'm still kind of at odds with it though...
i suppose it's great for if you have a deadline and you need to vector a logo or something really quickly, but for doing 'artwork'....i guess i can't get into it, to me it's like the 'posterize' filter in photohsop, except more elaborate.....and yeah, i suppose to me it is cheating....
but........
on some other forums, this debate has sparked many hatreds and nasty comments between people, so perhaps it's not a good idea to debate it....
whatever, i like conflict....lol

I love vectorial Corvettes and should have seen this one a long time ago. Very good work, man. Great car and great vector. I'm pretty sure those alloys were a pain in the neck, but you achieved good results!

it's funny how everyone says that, and then I feel like a goober admitting the tires were done with the live trace tool. lol

Then... Sssh! Don't admit it! Hehe.
The first fact is that live trace tool doesn't provide always right and clean results. And you make it work correctly this time.
The second fact is that the rest of the image still looks great. It's better to live trace a little fragment of it than to rush part of the drawing and make the whole picture look unbalanced.
So, good work anyway!

oh wow man. this is absolutely amazing. I love the detail in the rims and rear end. You have done a fabulous job of portraying this incredible car in near photo realism. definetely a favorite!

then rims are all done in illustrator, though they weren't meshed. I used the live trace tool for those, that is what was slowing me down the most on this project. I may go back and attempt to mesh the rims someday.
