Description
Based on the famous AK platform, the CD-2 was the first weapon of Castillo Defense to be mass produced for civilian use, made in 2003. Chambered in .223 Remington, the CD-2T1 was the first variant, which was originally made for hunting purposes; However, due to its precision, the Philippine Military had ordered the production of a variant that was able to take the similar, but more powerful variant of the round, being the 5.56x45mm NATO Round. This variant is called the CD-2T2, whose chamber was improved to withstand 5.56mm's higher pressure, though can still take .223, though the other way around can't happen on the T1 variant. However, both variants have fully interchangeable parts, and a bit of part swapping can make the T1 variant not explode in your face after the 4th 5.56 round.Other features of the rifle are:
-Left hand bolt handle
-A gas-operated closed-rotating bolt
-Wooden furniture up until 2016 when they finally swapped to polymer, though wood parts can still be ordered.
-Built in foregrip for the CD-2T2
