Cocnuts are the greatest gift to mankind, or at least they are now. Lovely piece. This is the kind of stuff I collect and clutter my room with so that it feels like home.

oh, wow. that's beautiful!
Very elegant, especially how the branches and roots "caress" the coconut, and I have to say that I never woulda thought a coconut could look so good!
Great job

Another hidden beauty -- found.
Coconuts are very versatile, noh? From its meat, skin, shell -- like, all parts of it can be used for something.

Wow, graceful and earthy...but the most important question, is it dishwasher safe? (that's a joke)
Dont suppose you have this sort of thing for sale any where?

Whoa, that's a lot of $ilver. What a dramatic looking goblet! (it's listed in the jewelry category??) It seems like the kind of thing seen in the hand of a goddess. The tree looks great with the 'arms' holding it up.

Remarkable as ever. I'm surprised at how well the coconut shell works in this piece. It's quite lovely.

It's funny, I'm surrounded by coconuts and palms, but I never really paid much attention to them as materials. You've rather opened my eyes to the natural materials around me. Did you polish the shell yourself, or had you acquired it that way?

polished with the white polishing kit. for amber i think. thats becouse ye cant wash it well
it like wood sucks water in it - & may crack
that happened with this tree in some places too... some of the biggest cracks i hide with the brunches, others lok like part of composition
like i sed - first try of mine

You know, I've found that Renaissance Wax [link] is great for sealing wood when I replace my sword handles. When I make a new handle, I usually polish it with successive grades of sandpaper, then linseed oil, then seal it with two coats of wax, which seems to prevent damage fairly well. I know coconut ends up much thinner than the woods I use, but I wonder if it might help you with the cracking?

not exakly...
ye see - coconut shell it self is solid & dont take watter in it. but thin wiens that is in that shell does it. & when they buff they brake the shell in cracks. so - only way is not to wash in watter. maby yust the litle but cold - warm watter wil do the worst.
but & will look for that wax & try it - maby it will help somehow

This is very interesting.
I've never seen a polished cocnut before.
Nice work!
( suggestion: you might want to move this image to the sculpture gallery as you will probably get better critiques there )
