Description
A werewolf a dwarf and an elf walk into a bar......3 rings I have made, 2 cast, one fabricated. Both the cast pieces were made using lost-wax casting, the mokume gane piece was fabricated by hand and you can see in-progress steps in the gallery.

ahh, wonderful pieces!
Personally, I love the werewolf ring (one in the middle, I gather from other comments). But they are all very beautiful!!

The patter on the dwarf one blows my mind, Wow did you do that?

thanks, and yes.
Lost wax casting, edge patterning was done with a rough dremel bit, interior designs were hand-carved. The piece was sulfur-stained afterwards.

I like all of these. The dwarf ring is my favorite, though I like the way you've done the werewolf symbols (I did a bunch of werewolf pendants, though only one is in my current gallery) and the moire-like pattern of the mokume gane.

Thanks! The dwarf is one of my personally favorite pieces. Unfortunately silver cannot hold the edges well when worn. I am currently working to make a similar one in titanium, which should hold up better and offers some interesting options for heat-coloring.

Well, it's a rugged design, I would expect it to hold up fairly well. But titanium should be an interesting challenge. I look forward to seeing what you make.

The edges tend to get worn down more than you would expect. I have some ideas on how to do it in titanium but first I need to get a titanium tube...

For titanium, the first place I think of is Reactive Metals [link] but I don't think they have ring-sized tubing. A couple of places I haven't tried (yet) are Titanium Processing Center [link] and Titanium Metal Supply [link] But for just a few ring's worth of tubing, you might want to check places with scrap titanium for sale; I suspect they can be tracked down on the internet. I tried looking for other jewelry supply places (other than Reactive Metals) with titanium, and found a lot of places with finished rings of titanium, zirconium and silicon carbide, but no tube stock. If you find a good supplier, please let me know. (I was doing the research on behalf of some friends who react badly to most metals.)

Oooo, i'll be sure to mention if I find anything, the basic concept of what I need seems so simple (perhaps a couple feet of titanium pipe, interior diameter of 18mm or so, with a 3~5mm wall thickness...) its just a matter of finding it....someone has to use something like that Somewhere in industry....

Just so. Much of my frustration with the world comes from trying to find where I can get something I know exists....

Sent an inquiry off to Titanium International, at the very least it looks like bars in the proper diameter are available and it shouldn't be a problem to drill out a couple inches at a time in the drill press.
(yeesh, 18mm? meant 8mm)

Well, I've never tried to drill titanium, but I've heard that it's not easy.

Ehhh, just have a good carbide bit, and go slow and steady. Having a variable speed drill press is nice and if you have cutting oil it helps a lot. I just use WD40, works fine as long as nothing catches on fire...which the dust and chips can do....have some baking soda on hand to toss on it

HAH, ok, just seeing if you auctually recognized it, was showing a friend (who has no clue) and she thought the dwarf and the werewolf were the other way around. I thought that at the very least the dwarf should be pretty obvious, I mean come on, chunky and heavy with geometric symbols! The dwarves always have the geometric symbols!
