this photograph deeply brings back horrid times for me. upon eating strawberries with chocolate fondue i found a squishy ball of chocolate among the back. questioning how it got there i put it away from the rest and continued eating the others. until the chocolate began moving. it was a snail... without a shell... a slug. on my store bought food. about that size. same make. i salted it to death and flushed it then twitched for about 20 minutes. this photo brought up such disturbing memories that i now feel the need to go into seclusion for 5... maybe 10 minutes.

OMG... damnn, sorry, didn't mean to bring any bad memories. One question: why on earth did you "salted it to death and flushed it then twitched for about 20 minutes"?... poor slug... anyway, snails and slugs can't do much to you. Once I put some tens of snails to my hand - it wass covered by crawling smails, incredible sensation! they're cool

not quite sure what that fruit is, but it surely looked a bit like a small pinkish red fruit! being a creature with a vagina, i naturally just don't like insects alive. especially on my food! so under panic (yes, panic!) all i could think to do to kill the snail without touching it was to salt it to dehydrate it. there was no more slug after awhile, just a salt pile. i flushed it because i didn't want to put it in the garbage at risk it would pop back up and wriggle around. the water probably rehydrated it anyways and it lived a happy life in the sewers. hopefully that's not where it came from before it went on my edibles! and twitched... because i was disturbed at the concept! eep, why would that be a good idea to put 'em all over yourself?! i'd probably go into a panic attack, literally.

OMG, I'm sooo happy I don't have vagina...

"why would that be a good idea to put 'em all over yourself" - just a hand, you know... a slug-hand... wanted to get some special powers. It didn't work out...

the set-up has caused my oodles of major health problems, so i would be quite happy if i didn't have one either!

the super power would be perhaps to ward off anyone who came your way. i do odd little things, but not particularly with anything alive in which i don't know where it came from and how it's been taken care of / taking care of itself. ick. disease ridden things.

I heard of someone who had bought a giant piece of chocolate from a convenience store to eat with her boyfriend while watching a movie. They finished about half of it in the dark, noting that is was a little crunchy like puffed-rice filled chocolate. After they turned the lights on, they found that it was full of thousands of tiny, white bugs that had gotten into it.

that's eerie. in the past few years, i've been quite anal with checking my food before i eat it, and it's frightening now to think back to all the time i hadn't been. from a supermarket or restaurant, finding a fuzz, a hair, an eyelash, a small fly... it's just not as uncommon as you'd think if you check everything really careful. the slug was the worst, as it moved. i just don't like bugs. at all.

A black widow in a bunch of bananas. That happened.

Also, I once bought a bunch of chocolate from a stand in a mall, and had to throw it all out because it was full of fucking hair. FULL OF IT.

gives new meaning to the quote, "are those black things in bananas tarantella's eggs?" not that it's a tarantella. still fucking creepy. i would have taken it back and complained about the hair, not quite sure how someone could explain that. that's become an unintentional hobby for myself, taking food back for returns. a guy brought my bread at a restaurant and there was an odd curly hair perched on top. he was bald. ...no hair on his arms, either. i left.

OH! i also heard of this TV show, can't remember what it was called, but this guy wanted to pull a prank on a food company. So he put roaches in a container of yogurt, then went to a comercial. When they came back, he couldn't find the yogurt. An intern had eaten it. she said 'I'm so sorry, I was just so hungry...but I really like how the yogurt had nuts in it!'
