One of my IB art pieces, digital of course, my favorite medium (*)Long time no submission, been busy with IB art, and all the other shitty IB subjects. Disgusting, history especially.
Anyways, I have been doing art, just, IB style, which involves a lot of bullshit and very little art. (see stone cat and photograhs)
This piece is my interpretation of the little mermaid, the REAL version by Hans Christian Anderson. Where she DIES, no happily ever after. Kind of macabre, but so much more depth to the story.
I've tried to capture that moment of death, of sinking, when the little mermaid throws herself off the boat. Peal earrings indicate the party on the boat where the prince falls in love with the other perfectly normal beautiful princess.
Everything copyright to me, references were photos taken by myself (ily Allison <3) Might post up some of those photos since they turned out pretty nice.
Still working on colors, I'm still not that good...damn those people with a natural feel for color. It evades me still...must do more colour studies.
Done in photoshop over a period of working on it almost non-stop for 3 days. Oh how I hate you IB.

Oh jesus, ohmygod this is just incredible! This is photographic, I'm serious, and just--the mood of this and the colors here are so beyond incredible, my god~ * v *
I'm absolutely amazed by this, like, seriously! Just, the texture of the water touching her skin, and the light refractions underneath, and the dark mood and the angle of her face and oh the dark almost-bruised shadows around her eyes... this is just incredible, like, seriously. ;v; I have no words for this!
