Description
You know. It's honestly awfully strange how life works. This show genuinely pushed my art style to dramatically improve, and made me enjoy the artistic process again after falling into a bit of a funk.
And yet this is the very first time that I've drawn any of the main characters of this show in any capacity (beyond the initial color study I did of the show (and I regret to say my Twilight here has worse proportions here than she did back then, but that doesn't matter)). Yeah, for a show that influenced both my art and my writing, I've very rarely talked about it, or drawn anything for it, despite it being actually really important for my progress as an artist. So, here's to over a year of drawing in this style! It certainly hasn't felt like it, but man it's been a wild ride.
BUT! I need to talk about the actual project itself before I make this just my 'year in review' post with artwork and tags. So the idea, as indicated by the title, is that I was doing a variation on the whole 'color wheel challenge' that was quite popular throughout the last month, and knowing my luck I've missed the trend by a month or something. But I don't care, I decided to do my own color wheel... sort of. As many pastels as the plenty of ponies posit, their colors don't quite line up with the color wheel...barely. I personally blame Rarity for that, but then again green isn't a common color for any pony. But, it was at least a fun challenge, and I think the final product turned out really well!
