Description
So, a little bit ago, I uploaded art of a character from My Little Pony that I said had influenced my style from that drawing onward, but I don't think it was ever made obvious just how much the MLP movie influenced my style. So yeah, the coloring techniques in the My Little Pony movie were actually really interesting to me, to the point where I did a full color study of it. I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to post this since it contains two stills from the movie that don't belong to me (the two images of Twilight Sparkle on the left), but after talking it over with a friend, I figured it would be good to post anyways, as it's an important part of my art history. Sans a few pieces (and with a bit of variation on the method explained in the image), I have been coloring my art like this since I watched the movie. Genuinely, I feel my art improved because of this, cause I just felt like my older style had been plateauing for a while, and this provides a sort of vibrant feeling that made me start enjoying the process of drawing again.
So, I can thank My Little Pony for getting me to the point I'm at today.
