Description

This is the third background study I drew, and I'm worried at how these are getting progressively more complex with each one. This is, of course, a study of the promotional art from Pokemon Journeys. I wanted to wait a while longer before I made any more Journeys art, but I just love these two so much. Also it helps that the promotional art was easier to study than the other project that I was initially working on, but I do want to try to get back to that at one point down the road. I already had art to say farewell to Ash and Pikachu (and even another piece later to say farewell to Ash and Goh), so this isn't a goodbye piece. I drew this to remember everything. The joy in my heart when I saw them fly on Lugia for the first time, my love for how good their dynamic was. The wonderful action-packed battles from Ash, and Goh learning to appreciate the world around him through catching Pokemon. I don't ship any two characters from the anime together, but they absolutely fit together way too well.

The world is big and full of possibilities, looming over horizon. The only way to find out what's out there waiting for us is to take a journey and see the world. So let's keep on going, as the journey... never truly ends.
