As for Saria and Malon, Link was practically raised by Saria, and the only reason he has to even acknowledge Malon's existence is enjoyment of her company, and given he rides Epona on the title screen, it's pretty obvious he canonically does.
This is why I prefer MaLink and SaLink to ZeLink. There's an actual apparent relationship between them, unlike ZeLink which is based heavily in 'Take our word for it, they're in love.'
