Description
More than halfway done on my first scratchbuilt mech. Thought I'd upload this too, hoping for some feedback.Remember that I have built everything on this, except for the balls in the ball joints.
There are some glaring problems, such as the torso being rather back heavy, and the arms and legs will be suitably strengthened and detailed to reflect the bulk of the machine.
So far it's starting to look a lot like Battletech, albeit with a slightly more industrial feel.
I don't know the game well enough to make up any stats (I have mostly only played the Mechwarrior computer games) but I imagine it to have 2 LRM15 racks, 2 Light autocannon, and a chin turret with 2 light lasers (the loose bit on the base).
Not sure about the weight class. 50-60 tons?
Any ideas or criticisms are welcome.

It's going to be a pain in the ass to get all the details fixed, but yeah it's looking pretty good now.

It's really starting to come together! Nice work! What's the color scheme gonna be like?

Good question, haven't had time to think much about that yet, but something striking probably.

If a Madcat and a Vulture had a child, it would be this, I'd wager. Good work! Nice details on the weapons too. Might I ask what materials you're using?

Thanks for the compliment!
Mostly 1mm plasticard, but I have a wide selection of rods and tubes in the same material, helps me make some more varied shapes.

Thanks, I love them too, tempted to make an AA tank with those.

That is also a good idea, although when I think AA guns I see long thin barrels.

True, but these are pretty long, just covered by, well, stuff. The idea hit me as I was playing with the finished barrel sections, everything including the shields could fit right on a turret. Perhaps I'll try making a quad, with a mirrored barrel under the top one.

Now that would be cool. BTW I have been meaning to ask, what do you use? Is it just plasticard or some funky thing I have never heard of?

Just plasticard and rods, tubes and girders from the same material.
Mostly been using 1mm, got a place where I can order 30x60cm sheets.
Haven't experimented much with heat bending it, but probably will.

Looks like an upgraded Bushwacker. As for the class and weight, medium 55 tons.

Hm, I think it looks quite different from the original bushwacker, but yeah it's probably in the same weight class.

Not quite a timber wolf, but some similarities. More like a primitive mashup between a Timber Wolf and a Vulture.
And thanks! Glad you like it, as I do too
