Description
This Toothless-plushie was made for my boyfriends birthday. It's the first time I've made a plushie, but I think he turned out great! The pattern is mostly the awesome Toothless Plush free pattern, but I ended up changing a few, small bits. I gave him more spikes on the back, larger foot-bottoms, changed the shape of the tail and prosthetic a bit, and did channels instead of the folding version for the wings. I also changed his claws so that they are easier to make and more of a triangular shape.
If you plan on using this pattern though, put all three wing-pieces together and sew channels from there, that would have saved me a lot of trouble. I also stuffed him from a hole in the chest after sewing the head on, because I found it too hard to stuff it as I went on sewing.
The skull on the prosthetic is mostly Toothless' Tail Skull but I changed the shape of the eyes a little.
His eyes are patches made by the super-awesome www.etsy.com/se-en/shop/ThePat⦠. His eyes are 5 inches for the widest part.
I wanted him to be double the size of the pattern, but something went a bit wrong, and I didn't notice until all the pieces were printed out. If you too want a Toothless with a length of 210cm, save the images and print them as size 200% in Word, because that's what I did.
The red prosthetic is detachable with a button on the underside, and the skull is painted on on both sides.
He has about 2900 grams of stuffing, or 8 IKEA SLΓ N pillows. I was going to weigh his feet down with sand, because as of now he can't stand on his own, but decided against it, and my boyfriend agreed. He would just be too damn heavy!
He is made out of 5 170x130 cm fleece blankets, since they are way cheaper than fabric by the metre. The claws are made out of fake leather I had at home.

I know this is a few months old, but I just wanted to compliment you on how amazing this guy is!!
I plan on starting to make this exact plushie today, except not 6 feet long, that would be WAYYY too hard fro me to sew! I'm aiming for about 2 or 3 feet long XD
I just wanted to ask how easy this guy is to make? He will be my third Toothless plush so I've had a little bit of experience just not with this pattern!

Wow, thank you so much! Always great to get compliments on him ^^
Well, I thought he was fairly easy, and he was my first ever plushie. The hardest parts were to sew the three wing-pieces together, so I recommend making them into one piece and just sew channels for the "arm" thingy. The red prosthetic gave me a hard time, but I don't know why
If you think hand-sewing is hard there is some of that, but I managed to get it right the first time, but as I wrote, I stuffed him through the stomach, not the head as the pattern suggests.
Hope that helps, and just ask if there are other things you want to ask

Thank you so much for your help, I finished my Toothless yesterday!
I did manage to sew the wing like the tutorial said to, but I did decide to stuff him through the stomach which was MUCH easier than stuffing through the head which I've done on previous Toothless plushies
I'll also be making my Toothless a red prosthetic to go with the brown one
But anyway, thank you for your tips! You definitely made this project much easier!

Thank you very much!! That is some great advice, I'll keep that in mind when sewing the wings and when stuffing! Stuffing through the stomach is actually a really good idea!
I'm going out today to buy all the fabric I need, so I'll start making him today! And thank you very much, I will! When I get to the wings I heard sewing them can be kinda tricky so I may need some help on them when I get there!
Thank you, again!
