Description
Granny Smith's Mother AKA Sew "N" Sow appears in a sepia toned flashback. This is my take on what her colors might be. In my opinion she looks to have either orange or red hair. While I lean towards orange, I added some red as a sort of middle ground approach. As for her coat, I'd go for a light yellow. The color's aren't set and the cutie mark is subject to change once I/somepony else can vector it better. It was kinda blurry so I had to guess a bit. So consider this a work in progress I guess?

I'd kind of gotten used to her reddish orangey hair so it's odd seeing it redder now. But honestly it was either gonna be red or orange. I wasn't expecting the parts I'd imagined were green would be blue but both colors work well for her.

It's my best guess as to what they would be.

For vectoring? Adobe Photoshop. Although most people use Adobe Illustrator. So technically, my pictures aren't true vectors. But they're close enough.

Cool I have that :3
Questions 2 and 3:
How do you get the lines so perfect
And
What brush do you use?

I don't use brushes. I use the pen tool. And the lines aren't always perfect. I'm working on correcting some of my Trixie vectors as we speak actually because I found a lot of mistakes I missed when I uploaded them.

I think I may go with Saddle Stitch. At least until everypony can agree on a name. Or I can come up with something better. x.x

Not meaning to advertise or anything, but there is a poll going on at reddit.com where people are proposing and voting on names for her. [link]
Would you like Saddle Stitch added to that list?

Sure. Other than my own name for her, I'd vote for Singer/Singer Stitch. Thanks for letting me know about the poll.

Interesting colors, although it's really hard to see when the old movie days are quite the heavily desaturated colors.

I'd like to see a vector with her hair in a more pastel orange. I think the red's too abrasive.

Originally, I had her hair closer to Spitfire/Golden Harvest's. I may post the lighter haired version as well.

You just color-vectored a pony from a...crud, there's a special name for that style of black and white...anyways, from an old movie style flashback. That, right there, is all kinds of awesome. The hair coloration in particular is really fascinating, and the colors of the whole thing mesh really well...great job!

Thanks. It's sort of a sepia tone I suppose. There's enough color and shading present where you can at least make reasonable guesses about colors.
