I'm going to feel dumb for asking so many questions, but if it won't annoy you then I definitely must ask a couple, if I have your permission..

It's about your sketching, I tend to interview superb artists to try and "get that" from them, that is if I know they won't bite me for it.

Hm, I assume you're a natural talent and have been drawing forever, but being specific on fashion sketching, (q1) how long have you been educating on it? (q2) Your croquis are precisely consistent, is that just from excessive practicing? (q3) What college are you attending anyway?

LOL, I'm making my school look bad by coming to you for sketching enlightenment but in honesty I like yours better than what we are doing. It's basic without too much fuss on it being complete (hands, face, variation of gestures) because the focal point is and should stay on the clothing, how one dresses their croquis. It's good to know because I might work for someone who cares about that in an illustration, but I don't like worrying about all that technical blah...

You could feel free to generally emphasize on your work (how long it takes you, how your classes are, etcetera) since I'm kind of interviewing you for my personal knowledge and only if it's not bothersome I'd not mind knowing these things

Well...

* I've been studying arts since 5th grade, so since I was 11. I've been studying fashion design since highschool, so that's almost 6 years now.

* I think my "girls" ended up looking like this by excessive practicing, yes. I've been studying anathomy in school too, so that helped.

* I'm studying at the Fine Arts College in Timisoara, Romania, I'm in the 2nd year at fashion design.

...don't worry, they tell me now in college, to simplify my croquis, because I should focus more on the colthing, but I don't really care I'll do my best to make them simple, but a bit more detailed, because I like them that way, and all in all it is my work. I don't care if they appreciate it or not.

* A paiting, sketch takes as long as it has to, depends on the detailes.
* My classes are not that special now... well we get our asignment and then we work alone and come back for verification. But I like working alone, I don't like my professor to interfere too much in my work.

If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks! I'm considering dropping my current school. They expect too much from us, for example my instructor will mark you off for the most minor degrees instead of looking at the work as a whole, it's incredulous. I'm a novice obviously that's why I'm there in the first place, she can't expect a pristine 10/10 replica of what was drawn by a professional. I am open to criticism so I can better myself, however just being expected to be some kind of prodigy and being judged with A's B's and C's isn't that encouraging or comfortable of an atmosphere when you're trying to learn.

Well, I'll probably have more questions down the line, so pretending I'm new to this, what advice would you give (like self-studying, good books to teach yourself from, courses to take like anatomy, etc)? Thank you again.

You are very welcome!

Well, anathomy courses are always welcomed, and books, I don't know, believe me or not, but I don't like to watch the latest fashion shows, to know all the "underground" designers, I don't like to copy, even though we do get inspired by things that were already made, I would like to bring something new. So, maybe try to make sketches and create clothes from ordinary things, like a lamp, or a leaf... It's a good creativity exercise.

I wish you all the luck in the world, and I hope you'll do great in whatever you choose to do. But my advice is don't give up, I came across some really bad teachers, in high school and now, even so, they won't bring me down. You got to know what you want, and what they say doesn't matter, what you want to do by studying fashion, has nothing ot do with them.

Thank you, I've probably got too much on my plate. I was never the best at an academic pace, and I have a lot of academic-like classes right now unlike the last quarter so I had to drop two of them.

Gargh, I'll live...What is living anymore Thanks again for the encouragement and advice!

No problem

I like the contrast though. The top looks a lot like water while the one below looks like a city.
