Wow, this picture really took me some hours. Now my hand hurts and I remember why I don't draw backgrounds too often. And I remember why I hate my scanner...
Nevertheless I like how this picture turned out.

Some weeks ago asked me to make some elemental creatures for him. Originally he just requested one for fire, one for earth, for water and air but I came up with too many ideas and therefore decided to draw three ranks of elemental spirits for each. So I proudly present the Avatar of Water.

The avatars stand at the very top of the hierarchy being the most powerful incarnations of their element. As you can see they are of gigantic size and almost unlimited, god-like might. Their bodies don't consist of flesh and blood but of the pure essence of their element. As a result they aren't bound to a certain shape or form of body so one won't recognize their appearance until it is already too late. Luckily for all living creatures there are only few avatars on this world and there isn't much in the world of the mortals that would bother them enough to awake their rage. But when finally unleashed nothing can stop them.
