Weird 1900s comic.
backstory would basically be:
Noel gets drafted into compulsory conscription for the british army in 1914-1915, sends LOVE STRICKEN LETTERS TO THE LOVELY ELSA, except because he is flaky and stupid all of his letters are dumb and weird.
September 15th, tanks are used for the first time by the british army
October 15th, the use of mustard gas is deployed on the battle field in the ypres
November 14th 1918, near the date of the end of the war
noel is blown up kind of and weird badleg and back scars
uhhh... and the pigeons are kind of hard to explain, but he proposed with a pigeon because he's flaky and thought elsa would understand bird symbolism, since pigeons represent fidelity and marriage (she doesn't, she actually burns that letter and it is beautiful)
