I think those poor balloons feel trapped. Hehe. It looks like that girl's pretty determined to try to hold them back. I definitely see a struggle for freedom. I love the color scheme, as usual!
Are you using photoshop? I don't know how it works in other programs, but photoshop has a pen tool that I think would be perfect for making those balloon strings. You should try playing around with them!

Yeaaaah the Pen tool but I dont know how to use it
so i used the brush.. and my mouse doesnt work well
so that was the result fuckedup strings!

Try to google a tutorial for the pen tool! There might even be one on dA. I remember I was too intimidated by the pen tool to learn how to use it, but once I did... I can hardly remember life before it!

Haha! I'm glad I inspired! It's a good start, the lines on the girl look sleek. Somehow, your umbrella lines are wiggly, though? Also, you can get rid of the white outline between your fill color and lines. Make a new layer and draw all of your lines on that layer, then use the brush tool to color between the lines on the layer UNDER it. That way, you can hit the line without creating visible overlap.
I can't believe how willing to learn you are! I feel like a lot of people on dA are very uncomfortable with critique and never improve. Sometimes I get attacked when I critique someone. I think you'll go far, because you're not like that! You're at least willing to try new techniques, even if you might ultimately choose to not use them.
