Description This is a shot I did while at ESC Entertainment for The Matrix Revolutions. I was one of the main animators on the APU mechs (Armored Personal Unit). This shot took about 4 weeks - 2 weeks to long in my opinion because of poor direction and feedback. Overall I think the shot turned out well and I'm glad i had the chance to do it. This entire shot is all CG. The Matrix Revolutions and this image of a Copywrite of Warner Bros. Pictures 2003.

Great work dw78nov!
Some fantastic animation in the APU Scenes!

I have a few questions, if you can answer them...thanks!
Which APU(s) did you animate?
How exactly did you animate the bullet chain? (spline+loft then add detail/ bones/ keyframed seperatly?)

Even with the noted poor directions and communications that was some substantial work you and the others on your team had done. Yeah the last two films got some flack but that doesn't ever change the fact that talented people worked VERY hard behind the scenes to do the best job they possibly could.

Oh how often fans forget this fact.

Nice work man!

Thanks for your comments! Yeah we all know the films did not live up to what they should have been! But what can we do... we are working for the directors sometimes. And we get paid to do what they want. All we can do is hope that what we do looks as good as it can. The movie is not up to the artists. Cheers!

Welcome again!

Aye, I do understand how that can go for sure. That's why, even if I may not like a genre film or TV show(genre as usually they're the more effects and design heavy, usually), I always will acknowledge the talents working behind the scenes as more often than not they did the best they could under whatever circumstances derailed the production in question.

This battle scene with the APUs vs the Sentinels was the most breathtaking machine-on-machine fight sequence I've ever seen. I keep comparing the Matrix to Transformers because of their CG machines. Damn dude, your work is wild.
