this looks wonderful! i can't even begin to describe how much i appreciate this palaeoart series! it really looks like you have done your research and what you brought to the table looks incredibly realistic and believable! the quallity of the photomanipulation itself is excellent as well!

Big thanks again and again.
And like I said earlier I always do a little research even when I make my usual stuff.
And after some reading about the sabre-toothed cats they looked to me more like lions then tigers.
Wide open grasslands and living in family groups made them look more like lions
So the base was set ,I actually did take a smilodon skeleton as base and "sculpted" a lion over it.Β

Exactly! you really did your homework here and i actually noticed you must have used a reference, because the proportions are really accurate! well done once again!

Hahaha......I think I told you this some time ago.
But it is not all that hard,it is that most people are afraid to take the first steps into photoshop.
But we all had to learn it somehow, I did it by trail and error, did make a lot of mistakes.
I am what they call a self educated guy,or to tell it simple just use what you need the rest is there waiting for you to explore.XD
I recently upgraded my program and I have to learn it all over again.
Different settings, I did lose some parts and I did win some parts, but for me Corel works still the best.
And it is not that expensive.like adobe.XD

Thank you......we will never know for sure if they looked like this.
But this is how I see them as a sort of beefed up lions.XD

It looks like a chunky version of the smilodons from "walking with beasts" very cool.

Β Yes I know and I have all of them, but they just scratched the surface.
With the technology that there is today they could make it so believable.
And there are hundreds maybe thousands of animals they could show.
And not just the ones that are familiar to the big public.
