Nice, I changed my opinion on some political drawings from a few years ago by now, but this one I still agree with.

You've showed perfectly how it looks like... America will never be "great" if people are split without an ability to debate and find the middle ground... Instead, they fight mindlessly.

Well drawn, and a powerful political piece.

What did you think of Jill Stein, or Sanders?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dwarfeater In reply to SulaimanDoodle [2016-11-30 15:45:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Overall I would have supported Bernie Sanders, primarily for his stance on trade deals and his anti war message. I also support universal health care, which he was pushing for, his stance on nonviolent drug ''offender'' and several other policies but I don't want to go into all of them here unless you want me to. ^^ Now, he also said some silly things like ''white people don't know what it's like to be poor'' etc... ,looking for excuses on issues like islamic terrorism, criminality and just the general amount of wishful thinking considering his plans. For instance I could see his system resulting in too high taxes for the working class. Still overall his ideas would've been the most compatible with my ideal political system. In the general election Β I would've voted for Trump, wich might take a while to explain but I could if you want me to^^ Β Of course I'm from Germany and don't know what life is like in the US, first hand but I try to follow the news specifically alternative media outlets as much as possible.

SulaimanDoodle In reply to dwarfeater [2016-12-03 21:43:32 +0000 UTC]

Some people felt a vote for trump, was a vote against the atomic bomb.

Wasn't his stance againstΒ The Trans-Pacific Partnership a factor?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dwarfeater In reply to SulaimanDoodle [2016-12-04 09:40:26 +0000 UTC]

Yes, those two would've been my main reasons for voting Trump. Trying to keep jobs in the US and his anti US intervention message ( at least I would consider him much better on this issue than Hillary ). Now of course he also said countless silly or maybe even awful things, plus he flip flopped on so many issues, which makes it hard to know what he really is about..... but I would've probably taken the chance.Β

The real enemy is the news media that created this disaster. They need to be held accountable for manipulating the country. The people of this country has made up their mind who should run for president strictly by which network they watch. Β

Completely agree, I didn't watch too many us news reports since I'm from germany ( Even though I'm aware that the vast majority of news networks are biased against Trump) but even the alternative media outlets that I usually like to watch are incredibly biased one way or the other in many instances... Thanks and yes, I agree. You most likely need to have some sociopathic tendencie to be be a successful politician.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GersifGalsana In reply to dwarfeater [2016-11-04 09:22:34 +0000 UTC]

Personally, I feel that the time has come to formulate something other than "politics" to administer the state. At the moment "politics" and the "state" are doing a great job of oppressing people as badly as they did when there were feudal dictatorships. There has to be a better way, one that isn't based in warfare and greed, imperialism and endless expansion.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dwarfeater In reply to GersifGalsana [2016-11-04 16:44:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes, there needs to be a way to at least reduce the power of the state. A system that really enforces the will of the people and uses the state as a tool, organizing and representing the will of the people. Not using tax money for baseless wars.
I'm just afraid that a lot of power will turn almost everyone ( or attract ), whether it's the CEO of a company or a politician into a sociopathic monster that tries everything to manipulate the market and/or the will of the people enough to in the end create something that steadily evolves into a tyranny. Β Of course there are also studies showing that people in power ( politicians CEO's etc.) show a lot more sociopathic tendencies than the average person.... So yeah, it's tough to figure out a realistically functioning system that doesn't give too much power to the ones that will do everything they can to keep and increase their power. But as I said in the beginning, I of course agree that a solution needs to be found. Since for instance right now, having to choose between two candidates that are so despised by over half the country is ridiculous. As a german I know a lot about the majority of people not agreeing with our Β politicians decisions as well, of course...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GersifGalsana In reply to dwarfeater [2016-11-05 05:01:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Germany is a good example of what you describe.
My Scandinavian heritage makes me tend toward the concept of the Allthing, where the people decide what is best for them and anyone chosen to lead or administer must serve those wishes - or go.
