Everyone's flipping out because Samus now has high heels and a "sexier" pose. EVERYTHING IS RUINED FOREVAH!So, here's my take on Samus' perfect form. Enjoy.
Seriously, it's a fucking game, yes, there's more eyecandy, as always had, Samus STILL kick ass, and everyone is acting like woman's rights has been violated.

Developers these days have to be so conservative about how they design female characters in games or else get bitched at by hundreds of gamers shitting their diapers over how Women's Rights are being violated. Granted, this complaining is about a character that has inspired people for well over two decades, with poor decisions effecting her recent iterations and the opinions of the public. In my opinion, it's the heart of the character that makes a lasting impression, no matter what she looks like.

Meh, Samus kicking ass in high heels could be seen as her handicapping her awesomeness so I can see why there's the nerd rage at her looking too girly instead of like a badass.Β
Any female character who's a badass tends to create the worry that they'll be turned to eye-candy in the end I suppose, FemShep, Chell,Β Jill or Claire, Kerrigan, Lightning, and some might say Elizabeth to name a few that have had people express such feelings.Β

Samus is known for being practical, and the only accessories she would wear involve making her suit more lethal.
As Smash Bros is using Other M Samus, it doesn't matter since she's already a non canon mess. Anything goes, so the heels aren't don't bother me, and I support doing whatever they feel like to Other M Samus.

Funny thing, it makes Other M Samus feel like a different Samus in the way that every Link in a Zelda game is a completely different Link.

No, people are freaking out because they're still using her shitty Other M self, overplaying the fact that she's female as if it's a key part of her character, and giving her gaudy, impractical high heels and claiming she needs them in order to not be overpowered by everyone else.

Maybe Team Ninja is making another Metroid game like they did with Other M, but they're just going to do a zero suit samus game where she stealthly goes around and takes out the DOA girls.
...Actually that sounds like an interesting crossover... stupid but interesting...

No, it's because she had ridiculous stiletto heels in Other M to help push her already enlarged ass out more and emphasize the fact that she's now otherwiseΒ incredibly short. Sakurai wanted to make them actually useful and decided they should be rocket heels with a design clearly inspired by a can of Monster. Even though she's never needed those to jump high before.
