This is simple... but it works with simple positioning of the character, bein' up actually givin' the feeling of flight here

I never liked the idea of having wings. I imagine it'd feel like I'm gonna bump into something or skip a beat and fall out of the sky.

I don't think that's so drastic. If birds can do it, anyone (with wings) can. Would just be annoying to drag it when on the ground.
