Commission by [Kendre]Prior to writing the commission details, I searched dA for dryad references, which lead me to Kendre. Her artwork of a dryad at night [link] convinced me to commission her. She did a great job and I like how she made my character into a lovely dryad.

Title: Sunbathing in the Groves
Background:
This commission expands upon Melissa Greene’s character [link] . She is a woman of many different interest and passions. One of those passions is Greek mythology and the subject of dryads attracted her attention.
Story:
Classical Greek mythology is a weakness of Melissa Greene's. She loved reading the different legends and mythologies as a child and this interest carried over into adulthood. The best part is she can study Greek mythology and get paid to do it. She’s wanted to study dryads and their lifestyle for years, but these reclusive beings were very difficult to contact. It was not easy to make a connection with the dryad community, but she found some unlikely support in this venture. Through the University’s student exchange program, she swapped places with a dryad who wanted to study how humans live. This exchange will allow both cultures insight into one another and bridge relations between humans and dryads. In a secret ritual, the dryad leaders transformed their ambassador into a human and Melissa into a dryad.
After her transformation, the dryads welcomed her as one of their own. They came out of their trees and held a festival in her honor. Satyrs from different parts of the woods came too, adding to Melissa’s delight. The music and dancing lasted for hours into the night. After the festivities, Melissa bonded with her tree and felt the connection to the earth. The rooted feeling of comfort and harmony filled her mind, nearly overwhelming her. It took some coaxing from her fellow dryads, but she emerged from her tree with a greater understanding of the dryad's relationship with the planet.
She also discovered one of the finer pleasures in life as a dryad is a sunbathing. This may be the key reason why dryads do not leave their tree very often. With the suns rays beaming down on her, it feels too good to walk away from the warm, comfortable sensation.
Melissa’s Fetish Journal, Entry #11:
Dryads are very shy beings, but they are important to study because of their intrinsic links to nature. Their spirits are bonded to a single tree and this tree has a physical and spiritual connection to nature. What nature feels, so do the dryads. Their reclusive behavior can be tied to distrust of humanity, who has harmed nature accidentally and intentionally. Trees are commonly used to build the foundation of human cities and even special groves marked as dryad sanctuaries fall victim to human poaching.
Despite human incursions, dryads find ways to adapt to difficult circumstances. They have a strong sense of community and diversity as there are numerous species of trees inhabiting each grove. They have a friendly relationship with satyrs and cordial terms with centaurs, who share the forests with the dryad community. On special occasions, you may find these three communities mingling and celebrating with each other. The most distinctive activity a dryad does though is sunbathing; an activity that replenishes the dryads’ strength while providing a form of relaxation.
