Description This is part of the front of a ship I'm working on. I'm adding cannons and weapons in proper places and adding more detail to it now, but this is what I have so far.

I drew a very rough concept of what it should look like and I'm following it a bit, though I'm adding details as I go along mostly. It's basically gonna have this part as the front and it'll be connected to a larger, similar part behind it. I might add some random spikes to it too, I'll have to see what looks nice first. This will be used for a 100x100 pixel icon, so I wasn't going to add textures to it at first, but I decided to actually make textures for everything, in case I use it for larger renderings.

very nice indeed, looks like some sort of cargo freighter you could actually come across in a space sim. sort of reminds me of the rhino-freighter in freelancer. just a thought, but if you size down the guns a tad and ad some lighting to that hole down in the front to make it look like a hangar, you could get it looking like a giant leviathan of a ship (or not, nevermind me, i sometimes get a bit antsy with megalomania)
And i'm very familiar with the method you're using, i usually don't plan ahaed beyond the basic shape and function of a model, just go with the flow and see where it gets you, works way better then strictly following a design.
Nice job.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. Generally, for low poly modeling (which is what I mainly do) I always follow a concept if I wanna get something done right and quickly, but this is high poly so whatever.

I will have to add some small spotlights in certain places to make it seem larger but I'm not sure where to put them yet. Once I get all the large parts done, I'll play around with some lights too.
