Description Control: Click and drag to look around the model.

This is actually two "deviations" in one.

First off is the model. That was a project for school in which we had to make a low-poly model suitable for a game. Of course, being the Star Wars nerd that I am, the X-wing was the logical choice. I've tried to model am X-wing a few times before some years ago, but they all looked like crap (I blame Blender). I'm quite pleased with how this model came out.

Secondly is the viewer itself. Wanting a way for you fine web denizens to be able to see my model in all it's Rebel glory, I set out writing a 3D model viewer in Flex. This is version 1 with some support for rotating around the model and what not. Some things that I hopefully will be able to add in the future are shaded rendering which will also force me to add Z-buffering. The cool thing about the app itself is that it can load any model I throw at it as I'm using a PHP script to convert an ASE into a much more standard XML type format.

If anybody is interested in getting a copy of the viewer itself, leave a comment and I'll be happy to set you up.

So something like stuff for studies. You study programming or something more games orientated?

I'm actually taking a graphics design oriented course, but we've had a few months of 3D and they wanted us to know how to do low-poly modeling. Programming is mostly something I do on the side.
