Kovu is probably telling her that her pride and becoming pigheaded about being the future queen is not acceptable and he probably told her the story of her great-great grandmother Uru and how her pride, being snooty and selfish had consequences.
Kovu: When your great-great-grandparents ruled, Uru looked down on other lionesses that she saw were not of her class. All she did was sleep around, bossed people around and did not listen to anyone, not even the high class hunters or king Ahadi. And she ruined the friendship between your grandmothers Sarabi and Zira because she saw my mother as low class when Sarabi was going to be the new queen. And her cruelty didn't stop there, she was even vicious to Taka, who would eventually become Scar, because he wasn't hers or Ahadi's son and he was the cub of a lion she once knew and didn't like, and because she didn't treat him like her own son like she did with your great-grandfather Mufasa his heart blackened along with my mothers. You must always be respectful to them just as you would want to be respected yourself, because if you don't respect them and think that you are the top dog because you think you are above everyone else, you will find yourself with a pride who despises you and not only will you create enemies within the pride, but you might also lose your loved ones because of it. You cannot be queen without your pride, Amira, you need them just as much as they need you, and I don't want you to end up like Uru and have everyone turn against you, from your fellow lionesses, your brothers, and someday your mate and cubs like her....you're better than that Amira.
Amira: (looks down)...I'm horrible...I'm sorry father...I was always proud and arrogant...but I don't want to make anyone feel inferior because I'm going to be queen, I was just excited eversince I was a cub...but I never knew I was acting like such a snob...I don't want my pride or brothers to hate me, or become a horrible mate and parent to my future family and forever be known as the arrogant queen of the Pridelands.
Kovu: (soft smiles) You're finally learning, Amira. A future leader also learns from their mistakes, there is nothing wrong with being proud and you are no where near horrible. You just need to humble yourself and tone it down a bit, and the pride and your brothers won't hate you, they love you..we all do, always remember that when you look at your pride sisters you also are looking at yourself, respect them like how you want to be respected, help them like how you want someone to help you, guide them as you want guidance when you need help, and love them like you want to be loved in return. That is what makes a good king and good queen. Which I know you will be Amira.

Agreeed. I absolutely loooove the dark lion colors, even if they're not really true to form~ Zira's like the darkest there, and I think they should go darker. xD

Actually Kovu and Scar are the darkest. Zira is tan while the former are both dark brown. I would say Nuka, too, but in proper lighting he's actually a dusty tan color, too. As far as lionesses? Dotty, Spotty, and Lazy-Eye are all darker than Zira is.

Dotty, Spotty, etc, are sort of washed out - I like the stark, dark colors of Kovu & Scar. That's what I was referring to. x]
