...people were upset with this one. They wanted "aged Sean Connery" Prime...er...but the thing is that I wanted to make these doods look younger....younger and G.I. Joe like. So I made Prime kind of a "Duke" guy...with unshaven face..........because unshaven faces mean leadership......ergh.....no..that came oot wrong....x_xOptimus Prime (c) Hasbro/Takara

He's a lil bulky for my tastes, but very well done none of the less. The colours are great, the design is very authentic, and you still have the ability to reflect a characters personality even though you changed their species

Haha- the colors on Prime look too LEGO-ish, if you ask me(I have major issues with the Armada human designs XD). And dirt blonde didn't come into mind because when I was thinking of Prime, I thought along the lines of Duke from [link] ; who was pretty much a regular blonde. I do think I should have made Prime look older though... it's not that he looks too young, it just looks like he's too young to have experience the things that a Prime would have experienced. Kinda like he was just made Prime(aaah...young Machine Wars Optimus XD)

I think this is ok. As far as I know Optimus Prime is one of the Transformers. Right? I don't know a lot about them... but this drawing is most certainly professional looking. Shaven or unshaven.

Hmn...there can be two reasons for this. Even though Convoy came from Japan, Optimus Prime resembles an "American" idea, in my opinion- or not even American, but a "Western" idea. Peter Cullen does Primes voice with a "Wayne Newton"(?)-ish inflection, thus bringing forth this "Western" idea. If you look at a lot of Asian stereotypes of "America" or "Britain", you'll see that we're represented with blonde hair and blue eyes- i.e., Roy(was that his name?) from Capcom's Rival Schools, Terry Bogard from SNK's King of Fighters/Fatal Fury series, the british dude from Saber Riders, blah blah blah.
Anywho...so theory 1 is that me, being American, I portray Prime as an "American" by giving him the blonde-hair and blue eyes.
Theory 2 is that G.I. Joe, a Hasbro license, and it's cartoon coming from Sunbow and Marvel Ent. originally, can be kind of like a "parallel" of Transformers. Because of this, Optimus Prime probably takes from Duke(blonde hair- this can go back to the idea of the stereotypical "American" theory) as far as imagery is concerned.
...and the final theory is that Optimus Prime's eyes are usually yellow- and since people don't want to give Prime yellow eyes, they probably just give him yellow hair.

i relaly love thisone of your human forms, i love the armos, how you stayed true to the colors and even the shap of the helmet fits the shape of optimus's head, the only thing i think you could've done better is to make the neck bigger so it would fit and be proportional to the huge brutish arms you gave him... even besides proportion, theres still the reality fact to it, for him to be able to lift and move his arms in a tactiful fashion, he'd need bigger neck muscels to help him lift his arms....
that's just my forty bucks..... don't mean to be insultful or nothing, just sayin is all....

People were upset? Do they even know what the voice actor looks like? That's how I base their human form on. Only...Prime would be more like a younger Hugh Jackman...so this is actually good. ^_^ I'm proud of what you did here. GOOD JOB!
