A quick practice for one of my weak spots.

Krita comes with a lot of brushes and that always helps me when I try to make some experiments like this, I used a bunch of them and I think I came up with some conclusions: Since shadows can be very chaotic, contrast is a good measure (like, I shouldn't use two colours that have too much in common, like I did with the pine which, as consequence, isn't as defined as the first one), shapes are always good for making the trunk (but that doesn't mean I must define them when it's in the far background), leaves should be divided using the branches (I already knew that but I think I got better at it thanks to this).

Maybe I'll do another practice for forests, but I really needed to upload something for today or I would've died oh god
