It's basically a very high fantasy/Final Fantasy vibe where the World Tree, Yggdrasil is the final goddess left after a great war centuries ago that left all of the remaining gods fallen or drained of power.

Since she is the last one remaining, (or at least so she says) mana has been more and more sparce making magic more rare. Yggdrasil is fixated to a giant floating island that has taken centuries to make its revolution back to the same battle place where she calls for worthy heroes to partake in a ceremony to awaken mana with the help of the techno-magical boom of with technomagical boom of Seidrtech, increasingly used to tap into basic spells for various applications, mostly for work. With the combination of this tech and Yggdrasil's guidance, and the teams natural affinity for magic, she grants them the ability to transform to face against the coming threats.

Yggdrasil turns out to be the main villain of it all, she is sapping the teams natural mana, and sending them to fight shadows of the previous gods who stole her eternal fruit before she ultimately dies.
