Description
Created for 's contest, which in turn is for the 20th anniversary of Rocket Knight Adventures.Which incidentally, is an outstanding game series. It doesn't hurt that it's made by Konami, one of the best damn game makers out there.
Also, I cannot do shading/highlighting/whatever this was to emphasize light.

What charmed me was that out of a whole slew of video game animal mascots during the 90's, Sparkster never exactly filled the "EXTREME ATTITUDE" niche. Aside from the US box art and like one ad, he always had this goofy smile on his face. Heck, the manual goes further to flesh out his personality, and I liked him even more!
Even in his sequels, despite appearing to take a turn for the "extreme," I think he remained likable. His appearances more screamed confidence and determination, as opposed to "Look at this cocky, extremely cool mofo."
Overall, I thought to represent Sparkster in a way that also represents his games in a goofy likable fashion, because let's face it; the Rocket Knight games were unbelievably goofy, yet likable and fun.

Agreed rka at its core was serious and daft at times, sparkster definetly stood out from a lot of them and this design definetly showed that.
