On October 19, 2012 a fire broke out in the Big Tex display jaw hinge. Specifically, it was in the electrical motor that operated the jaw. In a matter of minutes, Big Tex was no more.Peggy had to drive Hank home!
Texas State Fair officials have said they will rebuild Big Tex bigger and better for the 2013 season.

Kind of like me and my wife here. There was this old country bar in town that we'd been putting off to go see. When we finally decided to go it burnt down.
