The last of my Boiler and Hardley pieces, and to summarize, they had spoke for hours. Professor Hardley listened with rapt attention as Boiler explained all about Blister's arrival, subsequent misdeeds, and final demise.

"He didn't give me a choice, Professor. I...I...had to...and to save lives...I had to kill. Does that make me...evil?"

Professor Hardley looked into Boiler's big orange eyes, and spoke gently. "You listen to me, Boiler. As painful as this is for me to say, he made his choices. If it wasn't you, it would have been someone else. Clearly, he was insane, psychotic, and more often than not, you can't reason with such beings. You just can't. It wasn't your fault. You did what you had to do. There are people, good people, alive today because of what you did, and I am very proud of you."

Professor Hardley's comforting lecture was cut short by Boiler's sobbing bear hug of vice grip proportions!

"ERKKK...OOF...Doing the right thing is seldom easy Boiler, but you did just fine." The Professor smiled at Boiler, and changed the subject to help. "So, tell me about this Violet puff."
