It certainly has the possibility to affect a user mentally. The idea of the pills is to reveal a person's true inner self, however that manifests physically or psychologically.

There were subtle changes but I think there's a noticeable difference between the girl on day 1 compared to day 60. She's obviously more confident in her own sexuality by the end and has adopted a more light-hearted, bright demeanor on the whole, while still maintaining the core of who she is. That last bit is part what I meant when saying that she evolved differently from full-on bimbo.
