nejixten pirate style!!
decided to go pirate... XD

ugh..
anyway, had to do much research and use ref pics for pirate style clothing.
neji with hair tied back in low ponytail and tenten with braids. ^^
decided to give them both somewhat ragged clothing because they're pirates. ...besides, ragged clothing is much more fun to draw.. XD
tenten has pirate shirt w/ some sort of corset and belt, shorts, over the knee boots, gloves with buckles, and some more belts... XP
neji doesn't have much (sorry neji), but a pirate bandanna, over the shoulder sword holster, simple shirt, simple belt, some rope, and boots... XD
...fail at pirate ship background... > < simple sacks, barrels, and crates...
eh.. weapons.. fail... or at least pirate weapons fail...
i rather prefer short shorts/daggers that i drew here... never really liked the design of pirate swords... medieval swords and katanas are so much cooler... XD

story... ehh... picture popped in my head before the story came, as did: [link] so it’s hard to come up with story...

their goal was to do this without it getting too messy. infiltrate the ship, act as decent deckhands, gain the captain's trust, learn the location of their prized treasures, steal em', and leave as quickly as they came in. that was the plan. the plan that they had agreed on, the plan that neji had strategically thought of, until… the freakin jerk of a captain...
neji completely lost it and twisted the captain's arm, pissing the man off. the next morning…

the crew jeered as they closed in upon the two figures, forming a semi-circle at starboard side of the deck.
"neji?" she questioned, "what happened to keeping a low profile?"
"hn."
exasperated, tenten signed, "see, this is what happens when you piss off the top dog around here."
neji glared at her, "tch."
"i told you that i would be fine, didn't i-"
neji growled dangerously, "he. touched. you."
tenten let out another sigh, "neji. it was only my hand."
she turned to glance at him only to meet his hard eyes.
tenten shrugged him off and smiled, "besides, i would have been ready if he tried anything. i sharpened my knives the night before."
his angry gaze did not falter. the fact that tenten wasn't intimidated by his glare pissed him off even more. the one person in the world that was not afraid of him... that just annoyed the heck outta him...
"come on, hyuga, you need to chill."
"hn."
"let's take down these low-lives. that'll make you feel better," tenten laughed.
neji's hard eyes could not help but soften slightly as he watched her smile. she knew him too well. the one thing that lifted his spirits was fighting. the only person who knew that would be her, she knew so much about him... the only person who ever really understood him... the only thing in the whole world worth more to him than his gold and jewels...
"hyuga! stop spacing out!" she smiled, "there's thirty... first one to fifteen wins."
"bring it, tenten," neji smirked. that thing... or rather, that person... was her...

"fourteen," she yelled.
"fourteen," he matched.
breathing a little harder than usual, tenten laughed as she took down one more, "and that's fifteen, hyuga."
the frown made its way back to his face as neji took down the last man, a second after she did.
"looks like i win," tenten smiled.

"not yet," neji mumbled.
"eh?" tenten turned to see the captain of the ship trying to hide behind the crates. she took a step near him before neji held out an arm in front of her.
"this one's mine, tenten."
"cheater! then you would win-"
before tenten could comprehend what happened, she found neji's face centimeters from her own. she could not help but gasp in surprise at their proximity and felt her cheeks warm quickly. his cold fingers held the back of her arm firmly, sending shivers snaking down her spine.
"mine," his icy voice stated.
"cheater," tenten grumbled feebly.
"he. touched. you." neji repeated dangerously as his eyes bore into hers, "he's mine."
as neji turned to approach the man, he removed his touch from her arm as her racing heart slowed and a small smile crossed tenten's lips. overpretective jerk. you always have to take my breath away, don't you, hyuga? but... tenten flushed, you are too cute when you're being overprotective, neji...
"please, please, don't kill me! take the treasure, i'll give you anything! i'll do anything you say! just don't kill me!" the captain begged.
neji smirked as he whispered, "heh. i'll show you what'll happen if you dare touch my treasure again..."
