Pen and Ink0.1mm and 0.25mm Faber Castell technical pens on A3 Arches 140lb Hot Press watercolour paper.
Image tinted for screen viewing.
December 2010: Dartmouth, Devon. A plan is hatched.
July 2011: Cowbridge, South Wales. Reference photos taken.
August 2011: Wiltshire. Set up pencil rough drawing produced.
August 2012: Inking final version starts.
January 2013: Inking finished.
Time taken to produce image: Over 100 hours
Never let it be said I rush these things.
A massive thank you to Armorel Hamilton for helping with this project and without her creative genius making the Faybles in the first place this picture could not have happened.

Not sure I know how I would go about that. Do not get many people looking at my pages these days so obviously don't know much about promotion myself. The journal is the only place I can see to do that and have something about an event I am part of in October I would like to leave there until it is done. It is a good thing you are doing but don;t know how I can help.

A Fayble. Ok......... So there is some sort of reference.

The Faybles are from the imagination of my friend Armorel. She is the person in the picture and the creatures around her are some of her Faybles which she makes. Have a look at the link in the text accompanying he picture and it will take you to her web site if you want to see where the reference came from. This was all drawn from life except the surround which I made up.

It's a curious pic. I guess they're real. The rendering on Graveyard Shift turned out well. Looks good.

Wow. Now I don't feel so gloomy about my pictures not showing up every other day. Gives me perspective on my own time table. This is a lot of fun, with classic characters. I've been looking at detailed pen and inks. I think I can tell the female from the male cat. I don't know how.
