Well Sally almost always looks adorable, it should be a crime to anyone who doesn't draw her as such.

Got the idea from watching early golden age shorts with the 'screwball'/heckler characters (eg. early Daffy and Woody) who seem to have inspired Bean's character somewhat.

Sally just comes across as cute, both in design and personality. Characters like Cream and Mina I think overdo it and feel more like that forced sickly cute (eg. Care Bears style).

And Bean is certainly a daffy duck.
