Made a quick texture of my attempt at the redesigned Sally. Much easier to emulate Uekawa's sketch style, due to deliberate keeping things crude. I think some details are still a bit off though, I failed to make the head fully circular and her hair and hands looks a bit weird.Resolution is 1920*1200 pixels.
EDIT: Made slight edits to the face I thought looked off.

I think one of the reasons I dislike the new design is how they changed her face, especially the eyes; sort of makes it look like like she had some sort of surgery, like a face-lift (and I also like the way you did the hair here

I don't know what it is about how you drew her, but some how, you make her redesign look "Right".
Maybe it has something to do with a similar fan redesign

It's the art style. You can have a great design and it will look crappy if the style isn't right.
Take this as example. Say you loved Classic Sonic's design, but you got a 3 year old to draw Classic Sonic. He got all the elements and colors right, but it's a 3 year old's drawing and isn't that great of a drawing. If SEGA used it just because it was the right design, Sonic would look horrible in the games even with Classic Sonic's design.
It's just like hand writing. Just because you know how the letter is designed doesn't mean you can write neatly. lol

Her eyes are supposed to larger and touching that brown 'stripe' thing that goes down to her nose.

This wasn't as much a full imitation of the redesign and a composite of sorts to see how it would fare with slight dashes of the original design. I never liked how they altered her face for the redesign, or even how they altered it back when Yardley and the likes made it more SEGA-ish. Looks too samey as the other Uekawa characters and robs her of her distinctiveness.

Then the point is too stupid to be allowed live and needs to be taken out behind the shed and shot.

I think it's more making the character look loyal to the character style, without taking away their distinctive aspects and making them look like a generic mould of several characters done before.

I must say, this look helps her blend into the Sonic game style. I do miss the cheek fluff, but oh well, the new design suits her well.
