We almost had Sally and the rest of the SatAM crew in SEGA games cannon. But at the last second they abandoned it and we get that annoying brat SEGA Amy instead!

Nobody knows for sure. A lot of people think SEGA Japan was salty over SEGAmerica's SatAM's success so the SatAM game was canceled.

The same reason shows like Samurai jack, Invader Zim, Megas XLR, and others were canceled.

I meant, there was no good reason to cancel those good shows. And SEGA had no good reason for canceling a game based on what was one of their most popular Sonic products.
Hell the English release for Sonic CD even had Amy false listed as Princess Sally in the game booklet.

And apparently Ian Flynn also doesn't care for the Freedom Fighters, so we probably won't be seeing them in the new IDW comics.

Aww that's sad..... I didn't like the IDW comic very much so I probably end up losing interest for it if the story carrying on like that... what do you think about the 4 IDW issues?

I haven't read them yet. No comic stores in my town and I'm poor so I haven't bought them online either.
Not interested unless the Freedom Fighters are added into somehow anyways.

You can read it in YouTube (that's what I did) π but you are no missing nothing special really.... I understand how you feel without the freedom fighters it doesn't feel the same or right.

The whole point of the original Archie Comics was that it was a comic book adaptation of Sonic SatAM. (with AoStH mixed in for the first 50ish issues)
People liked it because it built upon the SatAM world and had their favorite characters from the cartoon in it. the IDW comic doesn't have any of that and the Archie comics lost that after the reboot.

And fan comics.There are some great fan comics based on SatAM and the pre-reboot Archie comics.
Hell there is a Sly Cooper/Sonic crossover comic called A Sly Encounter that takes place during the rebooted series that is pretty good. Does something interesting with rebooted Sally too.

A Sly Encounter is the only SatAM/Archie Sonic comic I remember by name right now. The others I haven't read in a very long time and/or haven't been updated since I last read them.

I believe Evan's is called Ghost of the Future and is based on the games with Silver as the main character and Okida's is based on the Fleetway Sonic comics. Glitcher's is based in the Archie comics.

Sally looks like part of the cast for Knuckles' Chaotix. Y'know, when the title screen appears and all the characters are doing little movements. Sally looks like one of them. She could replace Mighty because they both have similar animations.
I'm sorry if you haven't played, or even heard of, the game. I'm just giving a little comparison. If you go to YouTube, you can see walkthroughs of Knuckles' Chaotix. Once you see the title screen, you'll know what I mean.
