Description
Here is Uekawa style Rotor. I've done the purple design based on votes, though I'll likely get round to making a turquoise version as well.NAME: ロター・ウォールス (Rotaa Uohrusu)
ENG. NAME: Rotor Walrus
NICKNAME: 'Boutouero' ("Boomer")
SPECIES: Walrus
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 130 cm
WEIGHT: 70 kg
AGE: 14 Years
ABILITIES: Mechanic and inventor, high strength and swimming
Note: the above info is made by converting Rotor's stats according to characters in the games. The rest is just a wild guess.
Thanx goes to Pur-Rulz and ApacheMan2K for the Japanese translations.
EDIT: (5th Dec 2007) Refined slightly with better texturing via Photoshop (though the character itself is still in it's Paint format). My apologies for the constant edits but I'm a perfectionist and have lost interest in making constant seperate re-revisions of my work. if you truly think the Paint version is better I'll put it back in.
EDIT: (7th Jan 2008) Corrected white gap mistake.
Rotor and all other Sonic characters are copyright of SEGA.

I've always liked the character. Kind of a shame the only game he even APPEARS in is Spinball.
He's also a character where I can't decide if he looks better with or without shoes. He looks cool in both styles.

Thanx.
The design is based on the one from the SatAm pilot (and the Archie comics) with the gloves and shoes conviniently referenced from his Season Two design.

Thanx.
I guess, but I'd like these bios to be at least plausable (they're basically the Archie ones scaled down to suit those of the games characters, eg. younger ages, smaller heights, etc.).
Judging from your gallery you can draw just about every other character, including E-102 Gamma (yay!!!) and the AoSth robots (have to do them some day) so I'll trust your statement on that.

Hah. So I'm not the only one who thinks Rotor is similar to Rusty.
Perhaps TT were watching the old Sonic cartoon when making Twinsanity.

I also think Rotors a big guy. I know Walruses are bigger than 4.5 Feet.

140? A bit big, isn't it? Especially since Storm is exactly the same height, and he's half a decade older! I'd say more...120-130? 125 would be a reasonable mid-point.

I always thought Rotor was kinda a big guy, though maybe it's just the Archie version, he seems a little bulkier. Also you'd be surprised how insignificant those centimeters appear. He's still smaller than Omega and much more so than Big and Gamma. I was also surprised that Knuckles and Espio were 10 cm taller than Sonic when looking at them in comparsion.
Maybe it is a little too tall though, so I'll edit the profile. While you're here, I don't suppose you know the japanese translation for Rotor and Bunnie's names?

Pur-Rulz In reply to E-122-Psi [2007-09-08 14:51:07 +0000 UTC]
Here's what I got...
Rotor is 'Rota'...or something similar. Walrus is 'Seiuchi'
Bunnie Rabbot is complex, as there is no literal translation for either(One is slang, the other is a portmaneau. There's not even a bunny in Japanese.) The closest to bunny is either wakausagi or usagi-wakai (young rabbit), but that I don't think that's appropriate. the 'nn' formation is not present in the language.
I'll hazard a guess at...'Bunii Usagotto' I know, it looks daft, but it's the best I can get out of it.
For future use, Antoine is 'Antoan' and Coyote is 'Koyōte'.
Oh, and Sally's middle name would be 'Arishia'
You're lucky I have the internet, a book and a CD on the subject!

OK, thanx for Rota and Antoan's translations, but I don't think Antione has ever been refered to as 'Antione the Coyote', though I dread to think how D'Coolette or Depardieu would translate (I kinda think D'Coolette is the most likely surname as it is used in both the comics and the show's bible, Depardieu seemed a little more like of a funny film reference).
I knew Bunnie's semi-pun name wouldn't translate easily. The only clue I have could be Tails' real name (Miles Prower, which is also a sort of pun), which translates as 'Mairusu Paua'. Maybe I'll just put Bunii for now.
I suppose it's Antione next, though I also have Bocue and Decoe and Bokkun wallpaper pics in the works.

D'Coolette...Oh, god, that's a translator's nightmare. First, you have to change l to r, and then the 'oo' formation is non-existant, and then a thousand more rules!
'Kuretto'
'D' on it's own does not exist in Japanese, and I'm not sure what the D in 'D'Coolette' denotes in the first place. I suppose you could use de, da or do, but I'm not sure how the apostrophe works in japan. You might be able to get away with ' D' ', but I'd have to look it up properly in the morning, when I'm less tired.

Knew it would be a hard one. If you want I'll just put De Kuretto if that works. I know his nickname would be 'Anto' though.
A couple of questions though:
Would it be more plausable to just use Bunnie's surname as normal english, albeit with the accent? The japan canon uses the english (maybe Russian, though I'm near certain it's a pun of 'Robot' and 'Beatnik' name Robotnik in SA2 for example, only spelt 'Robotonikku' I think. My guess would be that Bunii's name would come out as 'Rabboto' (you can tell I don't know a thing about japanese language, can't you?).
Don't suppose you know 'Boomer' in japanese, do you?
Thanx if you can help with any of these.

Pur-Rulz In reply to E-122-Psi [2007-09-11 16:06:07 +0000 UTC]
De Kuretto should be fine.
Hmm, possible, I was just concerned about the japanese getting the joke. Oh, and your translation is almost right, just 'Rabotto', as there's a fancy rule about doubles coming at the end, and there is no double 'bb' in japanese.
Boomer? If you wish to fully translate, it's closest match would be 'Boutou-ero' (Japanese for boom with English addition). But if you want simple, english japanese, it would be 'Bumero.' Note: I originally put '-eru' instead of '-ero' but it has a japanese meaning. And wouldn't you know it, it means large! So, if you want to throw that in as a japanglish joke, it would at least make it more interesting for those who know it, but I don't know your intentions, so...

E-122-Psi In reply to Pur-Rulz [2007-09-11 17:28:55 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but most of the pun came from the fact you could mix Rabbit and Robot since they sound similar. Since that would be lost in japanese I may as well just 'engrish' it. Thanx for the correction by the way.
'Large' Boomer sounds amusing, though maybe I'll just use 'Boutou-ero' to be safe. I think the show's bible said the name was ironic, noting his 'booming' voice when he really had a light, squeaky one.
