About time I finished this.
Ah, feels good to be done. The hair just about killed me. I spent the weekend working on Lee's hair and I'm not too thrilled on how it came out, but I guess I'll have to deal with it. I feel kinda bad, I spent so much time and effort on Lee's hair. Neji's and Tenten's I just experimented with.
The highlights! *rips hair* What happened? I used to be so good with highlights! Argh!
I hope the colors are ok... I sorta cheated, Komal, and stole a few colors from the covers you made, but I didn't match everything. Idk why, I just like red on Neji, the color seemed like a good idea to use at the time. His is more of an orange-red whilst Tenten's is more on the pink side.
I had a surprising amount of fun with it and I'm pretty proud I only used one texture.
Sorry, I just couldn't do a thing with Tenten's pants, but it's not all that noticeable though, right? I was experimenting with this, trying out new styles, and I really feel bad now for not paying more attention to Tenten's hair. :/I was originally going to make it look like it was colored using crayons, but I kinda like this better. I used the crayon brushes I got to add texture to their clothes.
Ahaha, I'm too proud of Lee's hair. I've never done something quite like it before. It could be better, I certainly need more practice, but I can't stop staring at it.
I'm developing a fondness for Lee.

And how do you make lineart so smooth??
I love the smooth shading on the skin as well, although there seems lesser texture on it as compared to the hair..
Oh, and Tenten's colours are exactly right. You read my mind. =/ Oh wait no, you read the first page of the doujin..

Those highlights are sexy? I thought I failed. XD Let's see... I colored Neji's hair a plain brown, then I added the shadows, smudged that until it looked presentable... Chose a lighter color, used it where I thought highlights would look nice, got a lighter color, put it on top of the previous layer, continued... Then I drew white lines and put that layer on overlay. That's 'bout it... I was smudging the plain brown layer a lot though, trying to make it look like real hair, not caring about the lineart much. I was going on a rampage, erasing what lineart I thought wasn't necessary. I got rid of the lineart in Lee's hair completely.
Stroke path. :3 We has it on GIMP, you should find it PS. Edit>Stroke Path. But you're gonna need to make a path first using the Paths Tool.
Yes, I fail with coloring skin. *sigh* Something I've accepted. And am working on.
I stole hair colors only! Well, and Neji's skin. I got the clothes right?
