Description An old piece made back in 2001. Older greek lovers playing coy.
Made in inks, completely colored in pencils.
An acquaintance of mine, a historian, said that women from that time period did not act that way and were more aggressive towards their males. Go figure...

Welcome . Hope you don't mind this comment, it looks more detailed than your digital work. Um, I've gotten a comment like that directed at me too so don't think it bad .

I've been drawing by hand almost all my life.
I started digitallly last year in October, and I am still learning and don't have too much expereince, nor patience for it, but eventually I hope I will.

Materials for drawing by hand are getting more and more expensive, so I had to make the switch to digital. I still feel odd using a tablet, but I am still a long way from recreating what I did by hand in digital form.

Also somewhat ashamed given the incredibly beautiful works I see here made by kids and teenagers, but many of them are studing art, somehting I did not and will forever regret.
But when all is considered I think I do nice work.

DeviantART has a mixed bag of talent representing it. Kid, teenager, or adult, their still level is some thing unique to them. Every one has their own style or styles in some cases and this site can rip away an artist's sense of accomplishment by having them disappear into crowd of millions of other artists, equally good but different. So what if some of these people go to art school. If you can draw or sculpt, or paint on the same level. That means you're equally talented. The people that state they're in art school or art college, do so because if they fail with a piece the people looking at it will be more understanding as to why, because they're just learning. There is nothing wrong with being a self taught artist. It means you're more driven than some to find what makes your art great by your own sense of what that should be, helped by those around you that have an appreciation of art themselves.

Thanks for understanding and your kinds word, very much appreciated
I like it here, as as "facebook" as I go, as I don't enjoy social networks at all. I am very much inspired by others' works.

Like you I was drawing since I was very small and I do recall the first thing I drew was a Barney Rubble, as I watched The Flintstones every single day, and were my favorite TV cartoon up to this day.
I've learned from reference books, imitating others work, and now tutorials here and such.

Anyways thanks again.

Welcome . I've learned from every where, I kind of soak up art styles like a sponge. I've noticed your Flintstones fanart. I view every thing that gets posted in Non-Photoshop except most pieces labeled mature content. I'm considering soon doing fanart off of a show I remember from when I was a kid, but likely few will remember the show. At least people have seen what you're talking about .

My mature material is mostly nude posing, I have only one that is really sexual., and it dosen't show anything. Ironically half of them are digital and not done with bases, like my chibi Flitstones, all made by myself.

You should go ahead and make that fanart. MAny so called obscure shows are now making their debut on DVD after so amny years being "lost". I'm kind of old so I might know which it is unless is something from Europe or Asia.

I couldn't find enough good reference screen shots from the show to get a good idea for what to make. Next step is trying to locate it on YouTube if it's there to get ideas. It's not too out on DVD. Never noticed it in any stores and according to Wiki only one out of three seasons is even out on disc. It's American & British with what I found out about it which doesn't shock me with what I remember of the show.

Similar for my self. I'm told I've been drawing since before I can remember through traditional means. Got my watcom tablet in late '10 and have been using it daily since but it's not the same. Cool but you can tell what's traditional from digital in my gallery.

Hmm guess prices are different where you are. A cheap pad of paper & pencil here costs around two dollars.

I like to use these pencils brand Steadtler line mars Lumograph #100 they're the best for drawing., but any common one will do.
I prefer to color with Copic markers given the wide choice of colors and that the ink is replaceable. But then one HAS to buy their papers.

Here is a sample of how I used to draw before and with crayons!LOL![link]
If the link dosen't work vist my Fan Art folder in my gallery, the piece is called Eternia and Etheria characters.

After seeing that piece, have you ever drawn comics? I think it would fit your art well.

I did some comic strips that were published, most of them are in my gallery under that name.
