Maria was showed up at SA2 in 2001.She was the old sister of Eggman(the Robotniks).
Once her soul requested the master emerald to revolve life for new begin.Maria the hedgehog was born.The girl who is from another world the same as Prins.Blaze(Blaze the cat),And you can call her 'the NEGA SHADOW'@_@;That means she has the same power of shadowz but the speeding is slower than him.She can controls the gold emerald and the emerald can be an arm for battling.It's called Gold sword power.And another skill of Maria that she can makes diffrent magic arms.

One thing is interesting,She still has the old memoriz while she as a humen.And she knows SHADOW the hedgehog but SHADOW is not.She has IQ of 250(THE ROBOTNIKS always smart)and also helps Tails.
But the fate always limit her all the time.Her body is not in a good health and the evil wants to control her.So that's a big challenge for her.But she is still a optimistic^^
