Edward Cullen 1 Me ZERO!!! lol (but this is pretty good for a first try)Yeah, It's obvious not finished, but it's pretty close. I think I'm done working on this one for now. :/
I'll definatly come back to it when I figure out how to properly draw hair.
In the mean time i'll keep going because practice makes perfect, right? ^-^ Anyways comments and suggestions are helpful thanx!

This is really good for a first try (you should've seen my first Harry Potter portrait, eeek!, nowhere near as good as this). Not to mention, not only did you choose a difficult pose, you also chose Rob and he is VERY difficult to draw (not sure why, but he just is). What medium are you using? You've seem to have shaded all the right areas, perhaps just a variation in tonal/values? Maybe darken around eyes (so they set deeper in the face), and the neck where it meets his head (around the jaw line). But overall, this is very good for a first attempt, keep it up and practice, practice, practice! Just practice till your hand feels like it will fall off, and don't rush yourself. I've seen perfectly good drawings go to to hell just b/c someone wanted it done (I've done this myself once or twice).

mediums??? I am just using mechanical pencils, and a kind of charcoal pencil?? (i'm not really sure what it is,It smears like charcoal, but I just use them for when I want to get a true black in my drawing).
And I also use tortillions for shading, and I have these skinny sticks of compact charcoal. (also just used for when I want those nice true blacks)

yes, trust me I have been practicing!! ^-^ And I think I'm getting a lot better at it. I can probably upload some of the other stuff I've been working on later today.
But yeah, I totally agree, Rob is extremely difficult!! For me, I think its the hair. :/
LOL And I'm pretty sure it was the hair/highlights that scared me off in this first attempt. I know that that was probably what made me rush to finish it.
