Description I thought about actually animating the rest but decided against it since the blink is the purpose of this exercise and I didn't want anything to distract from that.
And if you didn't know about Secretarybirds' luscious eyelashes before, you do now.

For the sake of fun and benefit of my animation abilities I'm going to try to do all the exercises from this list: www.animatorisland.com/51-grea…

If you animate/want to try animating, I encourage you to try these as well! (And link me to them, I'd love seeing others' animations.)
Also, I appreciate critiques.

You did a really great job on the first few exercises. It's always interesting to see how people interpret the same basic concept.

My own take on the list is here .

No probs I reasoned that there should be a mix of experimental stuff and more polished, professional looking work. It'd be a bit heartbreaking to spend so long on these and not have a single portfolio piece come out of it

aaa what a stylish take on a basic animation. i love all the little touches you added - the motion of the eyelashes, the contracting pupil, the inner eyelid swooshing back. good stuff Β

Beautiful. I love how every detail has its own timing, that's not an easy thing to do.

Secretary birds are so fabulous. If only my laptop could handle animation programs ;A;

I rather like the effect of the pupil refocusing a bit, really adds to the animation c:

Hw do you make your animations so smooth ? Does it depend on the program that you use?

Earldense In reply to Guardianowlbubo [2016-07-11 18:50:12 +0000 UTC]

No, it depends on skill

Skill? like years of practice? or spending all the time on animation?

Yes.

Any program or way or tips how to animate for a beginner like me?

You already asked me that. I gave you the playlist of the principles of animation.
