I was just doodling and then I came up with it. It is very flawed, but this it the first time I drew two characters together and it looked ok enough. I noticed afterwards that the perspective and the way the lion is sitting isn't right, and the anotomy doesn't look right (I didn't use any references since I was just doodling). In addition I think that I still need to practise with my penset so that the thickness of the lines looks better. What I liked about the original sketch was the face and the paw of the lion, which both got lost in this one since I overdid the shadowing. I also liked the bigger scale of the original one. In the end I'm suprised at that the perspective turned out this way, even if it still isn't quite right. Normally I draw the animals sitting or standing in a certain positions, because I'm not that good at composing pictures and drawing things in perspective. It was fun to try something a little different.
