Interesting melted morphed rooting...lovely shaped & crevices created.

Yes! It is an Olive tree. They have very interesting trunks and roots.

I wish I could see one someday...a faerie I mean. But, I've read they're mischievous at times, and I don't need any more of that nonsense!!

I'm sure you're right!! Faeries, sprites, and pixies... 
When I was younger, I would pretend to be Thumbelina, and imagine living in the plants my mom loved having around the house...now when the kids and I go to the local park, there's a creek that runs through it and I still catch myself imaging what it would be like to be pixie size and able to hide under a leaf!!
