I was cutting out images and flipping stations from the convention to shark week on sci fi channel. I think that Β might explain the piece a bit. I could not bear to watch the convention for long.

Me either. I was out of town for the Republican convention, saw part of Trump's speech in an airport. I was sitting a phone recharging place, watching the closed captions, there were some off duty baggage handlers sitting near me, young guys. Trump said there would be lies at the Democratic convention but he would tell the truth, and I couldn't help it, I laughed out loud. One of the young guys began to laugh too.

And the Democratic convention, I just stayed away from completely. Beverly watched a little bit. Hillary has gotten where she is on her husband's coattails yet is hailed as a glass ceiling breaker. Not to mention some of her awful policies.

This is all so depressing on both sides, nothing but a show, theater for the masses. The Hillary camp, DNC, media all colluded to rig this election. When you have it at the top you can guarantee it was happening at the state level. No one should be so accepting of the tactics used as it clearly says our Β " democracy " is no longer. On another note we are strongly considering moving to Maine, property and property taxes are much lower there. I would like to be in southern Maine then I would only be about two hours away from my daughter and granddaughter. Even two hours away would be a huge change, my granddaughter is now 13 and soon won't want to hang with us. I am so conflicted ! Β  Β  Β  Β Β

That's all true. I had a long talk with one of my sons about this. The one good thing we might get from Hillary will be the Supreme Court nominees she makes compared to Trump's. The country is so much better off with Scalia gone, and replacing him with another arch-conservative would be a disaster. Voting rights, civil liberties, women's rights, you name it. It ends up in the hands of the Supremes and we've been taking it on the chin from the court.

Maine! I grew up there, went to college there - wonderful state though it has a wingnut governor at the moment. I hear you about the distance. Two hours is not too bad but it's more of a weekend distance than a weekday one. Right now with our grandsons five and two my son would forbid us moving even to the outskirts of town

I was there for Β my daughter and grandchild and it does make a world of difference. I am not surprised that your son would not want you to move. My daughter isn't thrilled with the idea even at this stage of the game but I figure we are running out of time to do what we would like to do , like I said I'm very conflicted. I'm not sure how so many grandparents just up and move away from their children and grandchildren.

I hear you. I'm actually glad that there's no decision for us to make right now!
